The Renowned Musician Urges Support to Propel Together for Palestine Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to send a cultural melody to the top of the UK charts. The project aims to send support to people in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Surprise Victory"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians during the holidays. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely let down if it doesn't manage to, Christmas singles are a category of their own.”

Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.

“It has a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we seek to lead a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The song was recorded following a solidarity show held in September. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the piece was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

The diverse array of artists appearing on Lullaby encompasses a selection of well-known figures from the music world. All were part of the benefit event, which managed to collect a significant sum for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a trio of talented individuals. The song showcases a mix of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The group managing the project have stated that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a specific fund. These donations will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a spokesperson commented. “We aim for whatever we can get. Naturally, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”

The context in the territory was noted for its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of infrastructure described as levelled or seriously harmed.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is primarily making this cause better known and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”

The song is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from mid-December.
