Six Individuals Detained Following 12 Million Euro Heist on Precious Metals Facility in the French Republic

A team of six suspects using military-grade weapons detonated charges to break into a gold treatment facility located in the city of Lyon, causing light wounds to five workers during described as the latest high-profile daylight theft to affect the country.

The daring raid was carried out on Thursday late morning, with law enforcement authorities swiftly apprehending the individuals believed responsible and recovering the stolen goods valued at approximately €12M (£10.5M), as stated by authorities.

Five employees of Laboratoires Pourquery received light wounds as a result of the detonation, and three of them were transported to hospital for evaluation, according to regional authorities. Twenty-eight employees were at the location when the thieves struck.

The individuals, believed to be career criminals, were taken into custody shortly after the incident in the adjacent municipality of Vénissieux, a source close to the investigation stated.
