Jurgen Klopp admits coming back to coach Liverpool is plausible in theory.

The German coach, who departed from Anfield in 2024, remarked that rejoining the club remains a possibility. Klopp, post a game-changing nine-season tenure which brought Champions League success and the Reds’ first league title for three decades, now holds positions as head of global soccer with the Red Bull group and providing guidance with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

They secured the league title in the previous campaign, though countless followers who revere Klopp would embrace the idea that he may eventually return. Speaking candidly, he explained to the podcast host: “I declared I will never coach a different club in England. Which implies in case it's my former club...yes. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“I’m 58, that means I might decide later on, I don’t know. Do I have to make the decision today? If so, I wouldn't return. Luckily, no such pressure exists. I'll wait and observe how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

When asked about what circumstances must arise to tempt his return to management, he revealed he isn't eager to such a return. “I don’t even know exactly, My present work fulfills me,” he stated. “No longing for management; I avoid standing during downpours for lengthy sessions; I don’t miss going to media briefings multiple times weekly or constant media duties each week.

“I don’t miss the dressing room per se, yet sharing a meal alongside the squad having a nice chat, that’s nice. With many victories so there was often great spirits at the club. I still have Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh ringing in my ears as an instance.”

Commending Arne Slot

He spoke highly for his successor, crediting him due to the changes that took the title in the previous season. They've been defeated a string of losses in every contest following significant transfers, yet he dismissed the idea it could be a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward such as Wirtz, doubters will be silenced if spoken against. A remarkable prospect. The French striker, incredible player. They have a strong well-judged squad. Fans shouldn't fret over the club, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

The manager expressed deep feeling on the loss of Diogo Jota, a player he signed in 2020, and its impact at the club. The Portugal international was killed in a car crash together with his sibling recently.

“How do you replace a person like him? This isn't just regarding his footballing ability, it’s the guy he was. I struggle to conceive the dressing room without him in it. Putting it into words is tough about it. A devastating blow for all the boys too. Not a single person will ever use it as an excuse but it is the situation. Being in that space which he filled completely. Coping with it on a personal level is difficult. Impossible.”
