The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills demonstrating the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' mantra that attracts so many people into the NFL

That result may have opened things up for the New England Patriots to creep back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a schedule that gives them an edge over their 8-2 rivals

Meanwhile in the National Football Conference the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to set up a major confrontation in week 11, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the MVP award

Analysis - Simply an Off Day for the Bills?

Josh Allen in action
Did Josh Allen attempt too much or was it just a poor performance for Buffalo?

Was it just an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs last week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Buffalo team to address

The Buffalo squad had won seven in a consecutive games against Miami but were outperformed from the start as the Dolphins ran out 30-13 winners in an eye-opening result - and performance

MVP Josh Allen only achieved the squad's initial first down in the third period and initial scoring in the final quarter - admittedly the Dolphins had 10 days to prepare but it was still a significant failure laid by one of the NFL's top offences

Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two scores but rusher De'Von Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns

Containing the NFL's top rushing attack was crucial too, with Cook and company registering just 86 yards, their fewest of the year and just over fifty percent their 161.5-yard average

Then there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Allen in particular. An interception in the scoring area meaning a nine minute possession yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that Miami converted to seven points just later

It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defensive side and Josh Allen trying to do too much to rescue his squad from the situation - not the composed, disciplined, balanced Bills we've seen this year

Miami have served up a bit of everything this year so the jury's out on if this is the beginning of a trend, but for Buffalo they'll need an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the New England are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the American Football Conference East

In Focus - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed

Speaking of the Patriots, they're among three different 8-2 teams in the NFL, all AFC teams, but could they be the best?

One could find flaws in the Patriots, the Broncos and Indianapolis actually for feasting on the lesser sides, with only five of their total 24 victories achieved against opponents with a positive record - and one example was the Colts beating the Denver

The Broncos beat the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indy can rely on Taylor, but the New England adding Sunday's victory in Tampa to their prime time win in Buffalo appears to be a statement

Their pair of losses occurred in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's first three contests, with seven consecutive wins, similar to the Broncos, since then - but taking down Mayfield after the Bucs had a week off to prepare was significant

Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he certainly deserves point for bravery after taking some savage hits in Tampa but hanging in there to guide his side to victory

The defensive unit is reliable and first-year running back Henderson exploded on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth different runner to break 22 miles per hour this season on his first score

Although you can argue who 'the best' is technically, the Pats should be favourites to end with the best record due to their remaining opponents - which includes just one game against a winning team, albeit a huge one against the Bills

Traveling to the Ravens is challenging too, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to play twice, the Chargers (who might also compete for first place but face the same problem) and additionally the Green Bay on the fixture list

The Colts also face the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two matchups with the five and four Jacksonville to face. There is a long way to go but the door is available for a surprise number one position in the AFC

Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Next Week Clash

Two teams with solid claims to be superior to all of the three 8-2 teams are National Football Conference West rivals the Seahawks and Rams, who each put up forty points to go to 7-2 before the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the pair in Los Angeles

Both have secured four victories in a consecutive games, have signal callers in Stafford and Darnold playing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses giving up under 20 points a contest

Both could realistically be without a loss as well - particularly the Rams as their two defeats came in extra time against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a potentially winning field goal with the last kick deflected and run back by the Eagles for a touchdown

The Seahawks also lost to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in week one, before losing to the last kick of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they're truly two of the best sides in the league

The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year to date

Top Performer - Taylor

Jonathan Taylor might be on for a record season after his incredible display in Berlin - rushing for 244 rushing yards, registering three scores and contributing an additional 42 {receiving yards
